We need your prayers now more than ever, Sanwo-Olu tells The Lord’s Chosen Church

The Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has disclosed that the state needs more commitment and prayer more than ever.

The Governor made the disclosure at a two-day crusade which took place at the international headquarters of the mega church on Sunday, on June 30, 2024.

Represented by his Chief of staff, Tayo Akinde, Sanwo-Olu stated further that his government is doing everything possible to provide and sustain the conducive environment for religious tolerance and harmony in the state.

He said “We need your unwavering commitment, your prayers now more than ever to fight for this state and the country, and a gathering like this provides us with the unity and purpose to be able to do that which we pray for.

“I assure you, my Administration is committed to providing and sustaining conducive environment for religious tolerance and harmony in the state,” he said.

While thanking the church for their fervent prayers for the state and Nigeria as a whole, he attributed the development and prosperity of Lagos State to the constant prayers and supplications made by the religious groups saying that the prayers of the righteous avails much.

He added that the theme of the crusade which was ‘And the Enemies Submitted’ was a powerful declaration of faith, “It reminds us that with faith we will overcome the challenges we face as individuals, communities and as a state. It suggests our total trust in the authority and power of God in every aspect of our lives. It also came at a time when fervent prayers are needed to help us endure the challenges we face for the necessary policy being implemented by the government, which has gotten the country and the economy on the part of sustainable growth and prosperity.”

Sanwo-Olu went further to state that the government recognizes the crucial role played by the religious bodies “As a government we recognize the crucial role the church plays in connecting with the people. We have maintained a close relationship with the church and other religious organizations to better understand the work of government, the church guides us with prayers and collaborate with us to find solutions to issues affecting our people in this uncertain time.

“My faith is strengthened by this crusade because it has shown me that we serve an awesome God who will not fail us and the challenges we face in Lagos State and Nigeria will become a thing of the past,” he stated.

He thanked the whole church for the good work they are doing “I extend my heart felt appreciation to Pastor Lazarus Muoka, the organizers and members of this esteemed church for your dedication for spreading the message of hope, love and peace.

“I thank the Planning Committee for creating this wonderful platform for people to demonstrate their love for God and one another through prayer, worship and testimonies of his goodness and mercy,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

On a personal note the Chief of Staff said that The Lord’s Chosen Church is God answering and living church. “We are in Lagos, in Nigeria, worldwide either you like it or not, the lord’s chosen church is a God answering church. This church is a living church.”

Also present at the crusade was Bukola Adebiyi, Commissioner for Religious Matters, Lagos State.

On his part, the Chief Host, the General overseer of the Lord’s Chosen, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, thanked the visitors and asked the church to pray for the governor and the state.

In his foundational message, the man of God, Pastor Lazarus Muoka lay emphasize on practical Christianity. He said that those who come to the father through Jesus salvation shall be saved adding that a sinner is not a Christian and a Christian is not a sinner.

He said “If you are claiming to be a Christian and you are living in sin you are deceiving yourself. For all unrighteousness is sin, it could be hatred, unforgiveness, disobedience, covetousness, bearing grudges. I don’t know the sin you are into, worshiping of Idols, meeting native doctors, having something in your pocket to protect yourself, open cult, secret cult, school cult, armed robbery, pick pocketing, repent and God will show you mercy.”

Speaking further on what constitutes sin, he said “Masturbation, prostitution, selling your body to make money, you are working in a brewery, you drink, one per cent, two per cent, dump them, resign and look for another job. If you are making donation and not redeeming them, smuggling, smoking cocaine, cigarette, stop them and promise God you will not do them again and ask for forgiveness. You marry second, third wives, send the second and third away, or your first wife has gone, bring her back. If you marry many wives and die in that state, you are going to hell fire.’

If you are married as second or third wife, you are a thief, you don’t have husband and no thief has an inheritance in the kingdom of God for the bible says, what God has joined together let no person set asunder.

He said, “Putting extra finger, extra nails, painted hair, when you paint like that you are a prostitute, you don’t need bleaching, extra nails, some leave their tommy open, their armpit open. A seducer is not a Christian and a Christian is not a seducer. That is the way of Jezebel, the mother of all prostitutes. Woman you are beautiful without a makeup, or you are a man, you make Jerry coil, scatter your hair, putting earing, the unrighteous cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Women dressing like men or men wearing skirt and blouse, this is sin. This is abomination before God.”

He asked his congregation and his listeners all over the world to repent and surrender to Jesus. ‘If you shall surrender to Jesus today, abundance of life shall be your portion for Jesus came that you may have life and have it more abundantly. Amend your ways and the signs are there because Jesus Christ is coming soon.Testimonies at the crusade include that of a brother who thanked God for the salvation of his soul, he also testified that he was visited by the God of The Chosen on the first day of the crusade following the declaration of the General Overseer and his constant of urinating stopped.

Sister Agnes Chukwunyere testified how God delivered her from constantly having baby girls up to the seventh. God of Chosen broke that yoke after the GO made the declaration. She said today she is an Evangelist in the Lord’s Chosen Church. She also testified on behalf of her daughter. Her daughter was involved in an accident which crippled her, and on the first day of the crusade, the pastor mounted the podium and said those who cannot walk should stand up and walk, and she stood up instantly and walked and up till now she is still walking.

In fact the two-day interdenominational crusade which attracted millions of worshipers from across the world witnessed miracles, deliverance and healings that left the people speechless.

Earlier the church choirs including the national choir and the Duet Sisters rendered spiritual and soul uplifting songs which set the second day of the crusade on the right part of spiritual motivation of the entire congregation.
