OTU Lagos Branch honours, Dr Onunkwo, his wife, Pharm Celine, ends year with party, Historic Awards

An illustrious son and one of the finest doctors produced by Osina Ancient Kingdom, Chief Dr. Sir Carl C Onunkwo, has been honoured by the people of his community.
The renowned medical doctor widely known by his people as Ozoigbondu gburugguru, was recognized by his people, at a well-attended End of Year Party/Historic Award which took place at Ozubulu Hall, Festac Town, Lagos State on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
The erudite medical doctor and member of the Archdiocesan Health Advisory Board, who has rendered so many life-saving services to his community both at home and in the Diaspora, bagged an award in the Diamond award Category for his immeasurable and outstanding contributions to OTU Lagos Branch and to the entire Osina Ancient Kingdom.
Also honoured was his wife, Pharm (Lady) Celine Chinasa Onunkwo who happens to be the first Pharmacist produced by Osina Town. A Fellow of the West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacy (FPC Pharm) Pharm Celine Onunkwo is currently the Director, and National Coordinator, National Supply Chain Management Programme.
Her award was received on her behalf by her children, Pharm (Miss) Chinemerem Onunkwo, a Senior Regulatory Officer, National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC); Dr Emeka Onunkwo and Pharm Ifeanyi Onunkwo.
In receiving the award, Dr Onunkwo expressed immense appreciation to the people of Osina Community for the honour. “I thank our great Osina people for the recognition and seeing my humble self as her Brand Ambassador, and I promise to do more by the grace of God.
“I know the award of this magnitude is an encouragement for more work. Based on that, I assure you, my people, that I will continue to dedicate myself to the service of this community with my time and resources,” Dr Onunkwo disclosed.
In handing over the awards, Chairman of Osina Town Union Lagos Branch, Chief Aloysius Chukwudi Emeh (Okadigbo na Osina) commended Dr Onunkwo and Pharm Celine, whose marriage has already produced one doctor and two Pharmacists.
He said “We appreciate what you and your wife are doing in Osina community and we urge you to keep it up.”
Recall that in September, 2023, the Metropolitan See of Lagos had bestowed on Dr Onunkwu the Maiden St Moore Award for his contributions to the upliftment and wellbeing of the Lagos Archdiocese especially in the area of health and charity.
