2027: Mopamuro Progressive Women Accuse TSG Of Secretly Supporting ADC …Ask APC Leadership To Warn Faleke Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities
An All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, Mopamuro Progressive Women (MPW), has accused the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State of allegedly using the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to mobilise support for the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement on Wednesday issued by the Coordinator of the women’s group, Mrs. Funmilola Zaccheaus, MPW alleged that TSG was discreetly mobilising support for the ADC’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar while presenting itself as a group committed to President Tinubu’s political interest.
The group also alleged that TSG was backed by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, and urged the APC leadership to caution the lawmaker over what it described as activities capable of undermining the party’s efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our attention has been drawn to the nefarious activities of an organisation known as the Tinubu Support Group in Mopamuro, which is allegedly using the name of the President to conceal its intention of mobilising support for the ADC.
“We find it appalling that those who intend to support the ADC would hide under the President’s name. We’re also concerned by claims that the group is being sponsored by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, who many believe to be a supporter of the President,” the statement said.
MPW further alleged that some individuals associated with TSG were opposed to the APC’s success in Mopamuro and urged its members to remain vigilant against what it described as attempts to mislead party supporters.
The statement also expressed concern over the alleged mobilisation of support for an Atiku Abubakar presidency, describing it as inconsistent with the group’s public identification with President Tinubu’s political interests.
According to MPW, the alleged activities warrants scrutiny, particularly at a time when APC leaders across Mopamuro and Kogi State are working to secure President Tinubu’s re-election.
The group urged the APC’s national leadership to urgently address the concerns and caution Hon. Faleke over the allegations.
“We call on the national leadership of our party to call Hon. James Faleke to order to prevent any disruption of the grassroots mobilisation efforts being undertaken by party leaders in Kogi State to secure a landslide victory for Mr. President,” the statement added.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition, assuring the President that its members would intensify grassroots mobilisation and political engagement across Mopamuro Local Government Area to secure his re-election in 2027.
“We want to assure Mr President that Mopamuro Progressive Women stands firmly behind his leadership and will work tirelessly to mobilise women, families and grassroots supporters across Mopamuro for his second-term victory. We are committed to taking his message and achievements to every community and ensuring that the people understand the importance of sustaining his administration beyond 2027,” the group stated.
