Group Commends Tinubu For Supporting Ododo’s Re-election, Fulfilling Promise To First Term Govs
President Bola Tinubu, has been hailed for keeping his promise to first-term Governors that they would enjoy the right of first refusal to seek a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Obasun Samuel, in a statement on Saturday, he signed on behalf of Kogi Progressive Youth Movement, particularly commended the President for fulfilling this commitment and giving his full support to the re-election of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on the platform of the APC.
Obasun noted that while Mr. President continues to rebuild Nigeria through the Renewed Hope Agenda, he has a strong and committed partner in Kogi State in the person of Governor Ododo.
“The Governor has embraced the President’s vision and is translating the benefits of the Renewed Hope reforms into tangible development across the State.
‘The results are visible. From the ongoing development of the International Airport and the Ultra-Modern Market to major investments in healthcare, roads and other critical infrastructure across the state, Governor Ododo has demonstrated the capacity and commitment required to consolidate the gains of his administration.
“His achievements deserve continuity, and the support of Mr. President for his second-term bid is a clear indication that the APC remains committed to rewarding performance and strengthening good governance at the sub-national level.”
Obasun also commended the leadership of the APC under the guidance of President Tinubu for establishing the important principle.
He added, “Governors are the leaders of the party in their respective states and deserve the opportunity to lead the party into elections after their first term, especially where they have demonstrated capacity and delivered meaningful results.
“Today, Nigeria has a President who combines strong technocratic credentials with exceptional political experience. His understanding of party organisation, political strategy and governance has continued to strengthen the APC and promote stability within the party.
“This policy will also enable first-term Governors to remain focused on governance and the delivery of democratic dividends without unnecessary distractions arising from internal party contests.
“President Tinubu has once again demonstrated capacity, consistency and leadership. Jagaban is OK for Nigeria. Ododo is OK for Kogi.
“With the massive support of Mr. President for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the message is clear: the APC is united, the direction is clear, and the work of delivering more development to the people of Kogi State continues.”
