D’CEM AWARDS SURPASSES 1,200 HONOREES, EMERGES AS A LEADING GLOBAL PLATFORM FOR EXCELLENCE

The D’CEM Awards (Distinguished Creative Empowerment Merit Awards) has continued to strengthen its reputation as a premier international recognition platform, having honored more than 1,200 distinguished personalities from across the entertainment industry, government, business, humanitarian service, sports, media, and community leadership.
Over the years, the awards have brought together an impressive collection of global achievers whose work has made lasting contributions to society while fostering stronger cultural and professional ties between Africa, the United States, and the international community.
Among its most celebrated honorees are renowned Nollywood icons and screen legends, including Charles Inojie, Ayodeji Makun (AY), Ejike Asiegbu, Norbert Young, Gloria Young, Regina Askia, Robert Peters, Ebere Okaro, Ngozi Ezeonu, Stella Damasus, Clarion Chukwurah, Joseph Benjamin, Daniel K. Daniel, Prince Eke, Anita Joseph, Gbenro Ajibade, Daniel Lloyd, Denrele Edun, Emma Odele, Funsho Adeolu, Florence Onuma, Mercy Mac Joe, Omalicha Chucks, Christopher Danian, Taiwo Oduala, Olufemi Raymond Brainard, Gloria Mba, and several other respected actors, filmmakers, and producers.
The D’CEM Awards has also recognized outstanding government officials and civic leaders, including former Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed, South Fulton Mayor Carmalitha Gumbs, Norcross Mayor Craig Newton, Dallas, Georgia Mayor James Kelly, Newark Deputy Mayor Ugochukwu Nwokoro, and Georgia Governor’s Representative Sebastian Barron.
International community leadership has likewise been acknowledged through honors presented to Mamadou Saliou Diallo, President of the Guinean Community of America (GUICO-HY), internationally recognized civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, Dr. Khalilah Camacho-Ali, Ambassador Waleed Shamsid-Deen, Hon. (Dr.) Cosmos Ndukwe, Prof. Emeritus Augustine O. Esogbue, Prof. Femi Ajayi, Prof. Lloyd C. Onyirimba, Hon. Mrs. Rosemarie Sesay Osuji, Stacy Bogan, and other distinguished humanitarian and community leaders.

Comedy and live entertainment have also remained an important part of the D’CEM Awards legacy, with past recipients including AY, Klint Da Drunk, Helen Paul, Elenu, Larry Foreman, Raheem Holt, Erica Duchess, Kiana Dancie, MC PC, Rod Minger, and several respected comedians and television personalities.
Hollywood actors, broadcasters, and international entertainers have equally been recognized for their achievements. Past honorees include Javon Johnson, Brittany Passion, Schelle Purcell, Kadé Hill, Princess Elmore, Ernesto Santisteban, Omar Soto, Mahogany Raspberry, Mimi Mala, Queen Aftan, and other notable creative professionals.

According to the D’CEM Awards organizers, the platform was established to recognize excellence across diverse sectors while promoting collaboration, cultural exchange, and leadership on a global scale.
With more than 1,200 recipients recognized and the list continuing to grow, preparations are now in full swing for the 2026 D’CEM Awards, which will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia.
The event is expected to attract celebrities, filmmakers, musicians, government officials, entrepreneurs, diplomats, business leaders, and community advocates from around the world for a celebration of achievement, leadership, and global impact.
