Treat Nnamdi Kanu like Igboho, release him, he isn’t a kidnapper —– Primate Ayodele

Fearless Servant of God, Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Nigeria, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on the Federal Government to release the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently serving a life sentence in Sokoto prison.
Primate Ayodele made the demand while speaking to journalists at the international headquarters of his church in Lagos, on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
He said the problem with Nigeria is not just sentiment but ethnic sentiment, adding that something is definitely wrong with the system, he said there are politicians that are being accused of embezzling billions, but today, they have been cleared to contest elective positions.
Primate Ayodele said soon there would be agitations for separation of the country, saying that it would come in a peaceful referendum, but the North would kick against it.
Primate Ayodele stated, “Nigeria is in trouble calling for separation in 2033. It is coming soon, very soon.
“It is going to be a very peaceful referendum, though the Northerners will not want it.
“They will get tired of ourselves, they will get tired.
“It is not the one Nnamdi and Sunday Igboho will give us
“Why are they keeping Nnamdi Kanu, why?
“Why not use this moment to release Nnamdi Kanu, is Nnamdi Kanu a kidnapper?
“If you cannot detect Kidnappers and allow them do whatever they want to do, why are you detaining Nnamdi Kanu.
“You don’t know the more you are keeping the man, I don’t know why, is it by law, but by my understanding, whatever that happened to Sunday Igboho, happened to Nnamdi. They are all fighting for the freedom of their people.
“If you forgive Sunday Igboho, forgive Nnamdi Kanu also. Sentiment is not the best. Ethnicity sentiment.
“I am being honest here, release him, release him.Release Nnamdi Kanu, there are people that are worse than him.
“Someone stole about N280 billion or more, and still come out to say he wants to contest, and you still allow him, it is not justified oo, let’s be honest to ourselves,” he stated.
