Anyanwu adds to knowledge, authors ‘The Storm Will Not Last’ and Destined for Greatness’

It is now crystal clear that the advanced countries of the world are thousands of miles ahead of the continent of Africa because they recognized the importance of writing and reading books. No wonder it is said that if you want to hide knowledge from a black man put it in a book.

However, concerned individuals of African extraction have braced up to the challenge to debunk and change that narrative by embracing the inspiration of writing books  and actually designing schemes to ensure that books written are circulated widely so that people would get and read them.

It has also been established that no one reads a book and still remains the same, books are educational, they are transformational, and they are informative.

All these were made public at the launch of two beautiful books, “The Storm Will Not Last”, and “Destined for Greatness”, authored by Reverend Emmanuel Chidi Anyanwu.

The unveiling of the books which took place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Assemblies of God, Marina, Apapa attracted dignitaries within and outside the church.

Whereas the book,  Destined for Greatness, is described as a book of impact dealing with a young dreamer name Joseph who embarked on a long journey that would forever change the course of his life and the lives of those around him. Joseph’s dreams, vivid and prophetic word, foretold a future where he would ride to a position of great influence and power. Joseph’s rise from the pit to the palace is a story of resilience, leadership, and fulfilment of dreams. It is a testament of the power of faith and the transformative nature of forgiveness.

For Pastor Prof (Rtd) Gabriel A. Osoba) The book, The Storm Will Not Last, is written in lucid language, simple not simplistic, but profound. It will ever be relevant to anyone passing through some storms on the road to greatness. While Rev. John Amah PhD says that the book is not only a message of hope, it is a call to anchor ourselves in God’s promises while we wait for the calm.

Speaking to Journalists on the great importance of reading books, Rev. C.V. Izuchukwu, Assemblies of God, Apapa District, disclosed that knowledge is an ammunition. “Actually knowledge is ammunition, and that is the key advantage the developed world has over the underdeveloped counterparts, we don’t know and we don’t labour to know, and that is what makes one a fool. But if one does not know and knows that he does not know, then desires to know, he is a wise person. He is  someone who is willing to wake from his sleep, he is not someone who is pretentiously asleep; because a Chinese proverb says, to wake someone that is naturally asleep, is very easy, but to wake someone who is pretentiously asleep can take you a decade. The blacks are pretentiously asleep, but thank God for people like Reverend Chidi Anyanwu who have started writing.

Using himself as an example, Rev. Izuchukwu stressed the importance of writing and reading books, adding that readers are leaders. “You heard that I started writing for the past 30years, my books are used in the universities, and in different continent of the world, as far as I can remember, and those who buy my books share the benefits they get, likewise the books of those that went ahead of me, which I read, they didn’t make me to remain the same, rather they put me far ahead and I started very early. I saw people, I admired their ministries, when I got close to them, the likes of Mukpai and the rest of them, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, Pastor Adeboye, our retired who has gone to be with the lord, Daddy Charles Ogbonnaya Osueke, Ogbonnaya Osueke never had high school education, but you know he realised that and started very early, he went to the US and acquired knowledge; and then kept on improving on daily basis. If you read his book, you will contact the same grace the man has.

 “A scholar said, only readers are leaders, anybody can occupy leadership position but those who read always stand out. It is very critical, and somebody that has knowledge can dispense information at anytime, in any field, if you call him, he will never lag behind his equals,” he stated.

“Then in 2017, I went for Global Leadership Seminar (GLS) in the US, I was in Chicago in a hotel room, when I was going through the account of Joseph, and it was very amazing what I discovered. Then from there I wrote the outline for Destined for Greatness.

“”And then I came back, I relax again, but last year I started working on them, putting flesh into the carcass, then the books came out,” Anyanwu disclosed.

He narrated some of the challenges he face on his way to producing the books. “Personally I am somebody who likes moving, I don’t like sitting one place, so to find time to sit down to write was a major problem number one. Two, in my position, I have so many things under me, I have five churches under me, I have my wife and children, I am still in school, as we speak I am still a PhD student, so all these challenges were there, they kind of slowed me down but thank God I was able to surmount them.”

Rev. Anyanwu also revealed that he is working on other books which he intends to launch next year. “I am working on two books now which by this time next year when I will be through with my PhD Programme, I will dedicate it and also launch the books.”

Speaking on plans to massively circulate the book, he said, “I am going to put it on the net, and at the same time, I am going to send copies to my friends in other states, other districts. In Lagos alone we have nine administrative units, I am going to send some to them so that their members can get them. Now that it has been launched, the price will be drastically reduced so that people can afford them.”

His advised Nigerians on the need to read books in this era of mobile devices where people are 24 hours on net. “Well the net is good depending on what you are looking for, you can use the net to do a lot of good things and not the bad one, so if you are going to the net, know what you are going there for, and then face what you went there for don’t be distracted.”
