Darey.io/Xterns, Digital solutions company, set March 15, to unveil Tech Hub in Yaba, Lagos
Digital solution company, Darey.io/Xterns has concluded plans to unveil the latest Tech Hub in the Yaba area of Lagos on March 15, 2025.
The company made the disclosure at a pre-launch press conference which took place in Yaba on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Darey.io is a leading platform that has trained and empowered thousands of tech talents across Africa. The newest tech hub is designed to drive digital transformation, foster collaboration, and provide startups, businesses, and individuals with AI-driven solutions and workforce development programs.
Darey.io believes in a hands-on, immersive learning experience that bridges the gap between knowledge and real-world application.
Designed to function globally, the digital platform has been in operation since four and half years, but the launch of the tech hub in Yaba is going to be the first time the company would have a physical office to drive her mission. Accordingly, the essence of the company is digital skills, up-skilling, reskilling and making people who want to be part of technological field to be given access to achieve that.
While speaking on the activities of the company, which include the Darey.io and the Xterns, Dare Olufunmilayo, Founder/CEO, said that Darey.io, is a digital platform that enables training solution. “First of all, we use the training solution ourselves to deliver training, we have a framework already that works, that allows people to acquire skills, and get what we called the career score so that they have access to those typical services that we provide.
“When people do their projects, submit their projects, they use our AI to get feedback on their work, they use many different services we provide as a platform, then they help the learners to have digital scores, which is a data driven way of them measuring the impact as people learning on the platform.
“We use AI to do the video, we use AI to do all the engagements, we also use AI to build the technology from ground up, that is the Darey.io side.”
Speaking on the Xterns side, which could be described as a platform where people acquire experience, Olufunmilayo disclosed that Xterns AI is designed to empower emerging tech professionals, connect seasoned tech professionals with meaningful mentorship opportunities, and offer enterprises and hiring managers data-rich insights into Africa’s rapidly growing tech talent pool. “So you may have learnt to become a software developer, but you don’t have the experience working for different industry projects, for instance, when you go for an interview and they may ask you, tell me at a time you did your work on so so project, if you don’t have answer like that to convince someone, to show that you know what you are talking about, then it becomes a problem, because all the things you have been learning you can’t really articulate them as an experienced person. So, Xterns is what bridges that gap and provides solution for that.
“So on the XTERNS platform, you can search for projects, you can collaborate with other engineers, you can build solutions and deliver them end to end. And we use our digital platform to then track your engagement, track all the activities you are doing, which then helps you to build a digital CV that you can then use to convince an employer to say, I have this skill, I have this experience, I can do this. It is like you paying for your own internship without waiting for a company to hire you. It is a place you gain experience.”
Since Darey.io with the subsequent launch of Xterns, Africa’s tech ecosystem has experienced a new dawn, a groundbreaking platform that combines hands-on project experience with advanced AI-driven analytics. Xterns AI was built to bridge the gap between academic learning and tech industry experience.

Speaking further on the partnership of his company with the government to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government of training 3million Youths technologically, Olufunmilayo, said the initiative was very timely as the government could now track the number of people that were actually trained. “It is timely because we have built a solution and the government sees that it is extremely good to drive her initiative, because now we can track all the learners digitally, as opposed to putting people in a room and at the end of the day there is nothing to track, to say, this is the skill that this person has acquired.
“Now you can be tracked, there is heavy data analysis that goes into it, now they can make decision, for example, we want to train 3million people, this number, how many of them truly have the skills? How many of them are able to represent the country on the global stage?”
He added that before his company came into the partnership this tracking solution was not possible. “Before Darey.io, they could not do that but now they can do that because we are using digital solutions to drive that initiative.”
Prince Joseph Ayodele, one of the founders of the Darey.io Foundation and its director, said that the Foundation is new and that its activities are designed to help the less-privileged in the society. He said the foundation is also meant for the benefit of the public especially the poor, the marginalized, the excluded, in order to empower them to have their own businesses.
