Umenzekwe as a Prodigy, Philosopher and Philanthropist, marks birthday, December 15
By Cyriacus Nnaji:
The word colossus is no longer acceptable or even illustrative enough to describe a man whose sorgourn on earth is not just for himself but for the good of his community, nation and mankind.
Leveraging on his political consciousness, the name Umenzekwe has become a household name in Nigeria’s socio-politico-economic and cultural fermament, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and until recently member board of Trustees Federal Housing Authority (FHA), he has built a reputation for himself which remains impeccable in his commitment to profession, community and nation.
A man who has written over 200 articles that includes analysis, features, interviews, reviews all aimed at nation building and development. Umenzekwe is so much endowed with knowledge and wisdom hence he knows something about everything and everything about something. What else could one say?
Even though not a flamboyant figure, a big fish has no hiding place in a pot of soup, the same with a tall man in a market place, his height must stand him out wherever he is.
Umenzekwe’s resilience, vision, mission, vitality, altruism, evidence based judgements are qualities that define him wherever he goes. Very unassuming, a man who does not believe in hearsay, sycophancy, backbiting or blackmail, he remains clean inside out and dedicates his life to whatever cause he engages in. Umenzekwe as a dogged fighter does not back down or back out in anything he believes that is right.
All his life he has ways marked his birthday in low key during which time he meditates on life as a whole and soberly reflects on his existence on planet earth, how to discover more grounds on how to help humanity. He also takes people’s problems as though they are his own personal problems.
Last year, friends out of passion and the special love they have for him went public with an article on several media outlets to celebrate his birthday, as a big surprise for him. Incidentally, without letting him know they went public and celebrated him in October, while he was still mourning the demise of his aunt.
It is therefore imperative to put the record in proper perspective that the 15th of December remains the birthday of Hon. Chief Modestus Umenzekwe, a man of the people prominently known as Onwa Achina, Ezechimereze and before the end of 2024, he shall be adding two more feathers to his already studded cap, as the Enyimba of Achina Ancient Kingdom and Ugo di Ebube Amesi Ancient Kingdom respectively.
According to the political master strategist, protagonist, philosopher and philanthropist whose seamlessness in handling issues singles him out as renowned leader of repute, he thanked God for giving him the grace to witness another year in his life, adding that God is the giver of life.
He called for peace not just in Anambra State and Nigeria, but all across the world. “I pray for peace in Anambra, I pray for peace in Nigeria and I pray for peace in the world.
“I also plead that our people should give the government a chance to enable government implement its well thought out policies which will ultimately be for the good of all of us.”
