Ododo Receives Foreign Affairs Minister Of State, Seeks Stronger Diplomatic Partnership
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaye, describing him as a seasoned diplomat whose wealth of experience in international relations will strengthen Nigeria’s engagement with the global community and create new opportunities for national development.
According to a statement by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Ododo gave the commendation when Ambassador Enikanolaye paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Monday.
The Minister said the visit was to formally align with the Governor’s vision for the development of Kogi State and to express his readiness to work closely with the administration, particularly in facilitating strategic partnerships and attracting foreign investments that will accelerate the state’s socio-economic growth.
“I’ve come to formally align with Your Excellency’s vision for Kogi State and to assure you of my readiness to work with your administration in building strategic partnerships that will attract investments and open greater opportunities for our people. Kogi has immense potential, and I’m committed to supporting every effort to project those opportunities to the international community,” Enikanolaye said.
The Minister commended Ododo for his humility, inclusive leadership and sustained commitment to the security of lives and property across Kogi State. He also praised the Governor’s development strides across critical sectors, assuring him of his support in advancing initiatives that will continue to improve the lives of the people.
“You’ve demonstrated that leadership is about service. Your achievements in security and development have inspired confidence, and I’ll continue to support your efforts to deliver more dividends of democracy to our people,” he added.
Responding, Ododo said the Government and people of Kogi State are proud of Ambassador Enikanolaye’s appointment, noting that it’s a recognition of his distinguished career as a professional diplomat and his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s foreign service.
The Governor observed that Ambassador Enikanolaye’s conduct and public engagements since assuming office has reflected the character of a patriotic Kogite who is committed to the progress of both Nigeria and Kogi State.
“We’re proud of your appointment because it’s well deserved. Your experience in diplomacy and your commitment to national service have prepared you for this responsibility. Since assuming office, you have continued to demonstrate the qualities of a true ambassador of our state and our nation,” Ododo said.
He assured the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of his administration’s readiness to work closely with him in exploring opportunities for international cooperation, investment promotion and development partnerships that will deliver greater prosperity to the people of the state.
