Primate Ayodele warns FG against law to restrict Christians from preaching
Servant of the Most High God, Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos Nigeria, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned the Federal Government against any law that would restrict Christians from worshipping their God.
Primate Ayodele gave the prophetic warning on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the international headquarters of his church in Lagos, adding that such law that would require Christians to obtain permission before they could preach is not only obnoxious, it is against the fundamental right to freedom of worship of their God.
He said that even as bad as the law is, some Christian leaders would shamelessly come out to support it, that it is the best law.
He stated, “Nigerian Government is coming with a law against the Church.
“If the government starts this, it will affect the government of Nigeria too badly.
“If you want to preach they will tell you, you have to take a permission.
“The government must not try this, if you try this, it will really cause damaged to this Government. They must not try it.
“Christians must rise against this.
“However, some Christian leaders will like to support this, that it is the best law,” he stated.
