Prophet Anene Nwachukwu to Atiku Abubakar: Retire from politics, support Obi
Bishop (Dr) Anene Nwachukwu, General Overseer, RHEMA Deliverance Ministry, Southwest, Nigeria, has urged the Former President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to retire from politics.
Known as oracle 1, Prophet Anene Nwachukwu made the call at the Annual Convention of his church which took place at the international headquarters of the church at Iba, Lagos, on Sunday, December 5, 2025.
Bishop Anene did not stop at asking Atiku to drop his presidential ambition, he also pleaded with him to support a much younger and capable candidate like Peter Obi.
He called Atiku Abubakar, whom many have suspected to be a mole in opposition parties, a serial presidential election contestant, adding that his contesting 2027 would not be different as he would ultimately lose again.
Anene who did not hide his admiration for President Tinubu’s undeniable and outstanding reforms, advised Peter Obi and others to give Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the support to complete eight years in office in order to complete his transformational governance.
Prophet Anene said, “Atiku should retire from politics, he has no business contesting, he has become a serial contestant, and age is not on his side, he should be able to support people like Peter Obi to come on board and at the same time, the current president, I believe, is doing his best to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.
“Based on fact, I can’t stand here to begin to criticize him because Tinubu came into government and saw the rot caused by Buhari, and he refused to speak out because he doesn’t want to attack his friend. He should have told Nigerians that he met an empty treasury, because Buhari government was a disaster for eight years, and this man in two years, I must confess to you, has done a lot of projects that are visible, so many reforms, local government allocations, are now going directly to the local government, which was not done by other administrations, subsidy removal, states are getting more allocations.
“Tinubu is stabilising the economy, and currency is no longer going up everyday rather if is daily coming down. So I believe, if you ask me, I will say let Nigerians give him another chance,” Prophet Anene Nwachukwu stated.
He said that Peter Obi, no doubt, is a good candidate, but that Obi may not have the support of the National Assembly and cannot do it alone. “Peter Obi is a good candidate, but he cannot do it alone, if you are President, and you don’t have National Assembly on your side, you can’t do anything, the way it is, Tinubu is holding National Assembly. In the coming election don’t doubt the ability of what APC can do, APC is a magic party, a party their result was announced about 3am in the morning. Another thing is the issue of INEC chairman, you know he must be a Yoruba man.”
Commenting on the oil industry war between Dangote Refinery and PENGASSON, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria which has left the Nigerian masses worse for it, he said, “I want to start by saying that the problem between PENGASSON and Dangote, as we are told, was that Dangote sacked Nigerian workers, and employed foreigners, I don’t want to believe that, but if it is true, it is wrong. At the same time the government should always protect the private sector. Dangote is no longer an individual, he is an institution, and he has given many Nigerians employment. I think if they are having a face-off, the federal government should wade into the imbroglio so that they will not discourage foreign investors from coming into our country to invest. So they should deploy roundtable discussion settlement between Dangote and PENGASSON.”
He spoke on the annual RHEMA convention which has the theme “Those That Do Know Their God Shall be Strong and They Will Do Exploits”. Anene said, “We were able to tell our members that if you know the God you are following, you will not be going about looking for solution. You must stand firm as a believer, believing that the word of God which you know will work out for you, because God says he honours his word more than his name and for you to know your God, you must know the man you believe his word. When you know him, you stand your ground, and remain focus.”
