Umenzekwe mourns former President, Buhari, says he was a true Patriot

Hon Chief Modestus Umenzekwe (Onwa Achina) and a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has joined millions of world leaders to mourn the transition to higher realm of the former president of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd)

In a press release on Monday, July 14, 2025, Hon. Umenzekwe said that the former President was indeed a renowned patriot who fought for the unity of the country.

In his condolence message, the Anambra State born political chieftain sympathized with the people and Government of Katsina State and indeed Nigerians on the demise of the national leader.

He said, “I sympathize with the people and Government of Katsina State and Daura Emirate, I also commiserate with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Nigerians on the death of a leader, the former Head of State, former President, Muhammadu Buhari, a committed leader, who fought for one Nigeria, and a man noted for selfless service, who is corruption free, he did his best to make Nigeria better.”

He added that the former president was the the person through the instrumentality of the former Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, His Excellency Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) bequeathed the Second Niger Bridge to the Southeast Zone of the country.

Umenzekwe ended by saying that Muhammadu Buhari who ruled the nation as both Military Head of State and Civilian President would forever be missed.
