Olaolu commends Umeh, Joseph families, says intertribal marriage good for peace, national unity

Hon. Olaolu Akindolire, a political office holder in Ondo State, has stated that intertribal marriage could enhance peace and national unity.

Akindolire made the statement at the traditional marriage ceremony between the children of Engineer Godson Umeh from Osina, Ideato North LGA, Imo State and Abiodun Joseph from Osun State.

The event took place on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Jigiwura Event Centre, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Speaking on how intertribal marriage could enhance peace and harmonious coexistence among Nigerians, Akindolire said “I am very happy about this, it is an example to those who are tribalists, intertribal amarriage is capable of strengthening the unity of the country that we are looking up to, because united we stand, divided we fall.

“The man is Igbo, the lady is Yoruba and we all come here together as a family, this is very good,” Akindolire stated.

He also advised the new couple on the need for love and understanding in their marriage, “My advice for the newly wedded couple is to make sure they love each other, and to try as much as possible to show understanding, there could be good time and there could be hard time, but they just have to tolerate each other.”

Akindolire who disclosed that he has extended relationship with the mother of the bride described marriage as an everlasting consistent commitment between a man and woman who have agreed to live together and it is for better for worse.
