SWAIAP appoints Cyriacus Nnaji as Assistant Director, Media and Publications
Society for West African Internal Audit Practitioners (SWAIAP) has appointed Mazi Cyriacus Nnaji as its Assistant Director, Media and Publications.
The letter signed by the President/Chief Executive Officer of the group, Noble Patrick Nzechukwu and made available to the media, read, “With reference to your recent nomination and acceptance into the Executive Council of Society for West African Internal Audit Practitioners (SWAIAP), we are pleased to inform you that you have been considered and selected for the position of Asst. Director, Media And Publications.”
With the appointment which was announced on Monday, June 10, 2024, the organization said it is confident that Mazi Nnaji will deploy his wealth of knowledge in the media to take the society to a lofty height by coordinating all media and publications related activities of both Council and Board; Initiate plans and actions for activities relating to media and publications; and ensure progressive brand promotion.
The vision of SWAIAP is to institutionalize internal auditing in West Africa as a foremost tool for detecting and preventing corruption, improving business processes and performance and mitigating to the barest minimum all forms of financial and non-financial risks in both private and public sectors.
SWAIAP has as its aims the propagation through SWAIAP and other available platforms the need for effective internal auditing in West African sub-region as a foremost tool for anti-corruption, mitigation to the barest minimum of inefficiencies, ineffectiveness and other forms of financial and non-financial risks with strong corporate governance, risk management system and adequate internal control and compliance and virile reporting systems; training and properly equipping members with tools and skills necessary for effective internal audit practice in West African sub-region; and liaising with relevant agencies and institutions in the propagation of effective and strong corporate governance, risk management system and adequate internal control and compliance and virile reporting systems.
Its other aims include to encourage the Publishing of Internal audit textbooks both Study and Practice books for tertiary institutions and Professional Training institutions; to encourage tertiary institutions in West Africa to include Internal Auditing in their syllabuses as done in other organized economies; to embark on research and development (R & D) that would bring about inventions and innovations that would be acceptable as global best practices and to enact the law backing the Practice, Regulation and Administration of Internal Auditing in West African countries.
Annual Programmes of the organization include West African Inter-State Annual Conference; West African Inter-State Annual Dialog on Relevance of Effective GRC; West African Women Internal Auditors Forum; Walk For Life; Schools Unite for Effective GRC Implementation; Dialog with MDA on Relevance of Effective GRC; Achievers Annual Dinner Awards Night and Relevance of Effective GRC for Corporate Organizations.
To infuse more energy into the activities of SWAIAP many other capable hands were also appointed into the 2024 – 2028 Executive Council. They include Hector Ekeocha, Director, GRC; Rose Ishaku Pennap, Director, Membership Mobilization; Aiyenimelo Olufunbi Oluseyi – Asst. Director, Compliance; Auwalu Mohammed, Asst. Director, IA; Taiwo Moses Osoba, Director, Programmes; Vuthy Keo, VP; Ikuesewo Sunday Oyewole, Asst. Director, CG and Funmilola Esther Ogundare, Director, Training, R & D.
