Hon Dr Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu, former lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 02, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has commended the president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the commissioning of part of the Lagos, Calabar Coastal highway.

While given his commendation, the former lawmaker advocated that the ultramodern road infrastructure should be guarded with top-notch security arrangements.

He said, “I want to first of all say congratulations to Mr president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the commissioning of part of the Lagos Calabar Coastal Road.

“I know people will always complain but the issue is that at least he has shown the commitment that he has for the coastal road. From inception, even when it was initiated, there were a lot of Nigerians crying foul, is he going to complete it, he has just four years to go, even if he has eight years, how is he sure he is going to complete that road?

“He is now shaming the doubting Thomases that look, that project is very important for him. And for commissioning part of it, that has been done, he is also telling Nigerians, look, definitely he is going to finish this project and this project is very important to him,” he said.

He assured that the president is ready to complete the road and in record time. “Yes, there is nothing the president can do today that everybody will praise him, that is the fact, but for me, it is a good one, he has shown the intensity that the Lagos Calabar Coastal Road is really alive and that by the grace of God, God keeping him, that focus of getting it done to the end of the 700 plus kilometers will be achieved.”

He urged Nigerians to support the president in his efforts to complete the road as it has the potentiality to grow the economy and enhance development. “So Nigerians should not be discouraged, instead they should encourage the president to do more because that road will bring a lot of development, and you know when you have a good road like the coastal road, it will attract a lot of investments, economic activities and in fact, it is a key to future development in Nigeria. Apart from that, we lack good road, you know to travel by air is a challenge in Nigeria, and how many people can afford it?

“Less people use the air, but more people use the land, so it will also help especially in inter state transportation system, that even a common man can use, and by the end of the day the surge to travel by air might reduce,” he stated.

Hon. Idimogu appealed to the president to ensure that security on the road is top-notch. “But there is one other thing I think is key along this coastal road, which I also want to appeal to our president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to please, ensure, security should be top-notch so that people will have the confidence to travel in their cars to their respective states.”

He continued to shower encomiums on the president for the much he has done, while calling on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support for the president. “Once again I congratulate the president on the much he has done, and I also appeal to Nigerians to believe in Mr President.

“I am telling Nigerians to believe in the president and give him that support, that project will be completed and it will usher in much economic benefits for the interests of Nigerians,” Hon Idimogu maintained.

He further expressed special appreciation to the former governor of Ebonyi State and now Minister of Works for a job well done. “I also want to commend the Minister of Works, that man is doing well, the former governor of Ebonyi State, like he said, he is focused on doing those things the president wants him to do, which the Lagos Calabar Coastal Road is one of the key issues that he has to achieve. In fact, I want to congratulate him, I believe that over 75% of that road will be completed before end of Tinubu’s first tenure, I believe Nigerians will give him the mantle again in 2027.

“I am telling
